A marital relationship is a divine relationship. But married couples think that their life partner is imperfect. What should you do when you realize your spouse is not perfect?
Perception of life is different at every stage of life. A child thinks life is perfect with the parents. An adult person thinks life is smooth with the presence of friends and concludes their parents are old school and they don’t understand modern life. A marriage candidate thinks marital life will be gorgeous. A senior person thinks the support of their imperfect life partner is the best they could imagine. But why has life become unpleasant for married couples?
Everyone thinks life will be better than now after marriage. They consider only the external attractions and positive aspects of their partner. Most of these candidates forget there is no perfect person born in this world and everyone is unique. They believe in their ability to make things comfortable after marriage. Those people will fail to respect the unpleasant comments from parents or friends. Finally, they conclude this proposal is the best for their life. This process repeats even for second or third marriages. So unpleasant people will remain in that state even after the third or fourth iteration of marriage.
Mostly, couples expect a perfect person in their spouse when they are imperfect. Accepting the imperfections of their spouse will be uncomfortable at the beginning of marital life but forced to be adjusted later. Marriage is the association of two imperfect persons to make a perfect life. The perfections of one partner facilitate the shortcomings of the other partner and vice versa.
Your inferiority complex may work against your relationship with your partner. Following openness about your own likes and dislikes, accepting your weaknesses, allowing your partner to exercise their part in life, and supplementing your shortcomings with their strengths will solve many marital conflicts. Improving your strength and supporting your partner in their weaknesses and shortfalls without criticizing provides the right mix for a better married life.
Enjoy your life as a precious gift from God.
