How much entertainment is necessary?

Parents complain that children spend too much time on entertainment. Knowledge increases through entertainment, but too much will leave time for important things. Do you value entertainment more?

Managing time and prioritizing in life are essential tasks that cannot be ignored. While entertainment offers relaxation and happiness, it is important to use it in moderation.  Those who work in the entertainment industry, those who conduct movie reviews, and those who work in commercial and industrial establishments spend a lot of time on entertainment as part of their work. Since most of the entertainment programs are run with the expectation of profit, their presentation can be in the form of stars that appeal to our sensitive feelings and increase the addiction. Such programs do us more harm than good. It is common to exaggerate sensitive news to increase audience curiosity.

Special care should be taken while choosing entertainment programs. Programs outside the home should be prioritized. Programs that share negative thoughts, opinions, violence and experiences should be strictly avoided. Today satire has grown into a huge field of comedy. But it creates a very toxic experience in our mind. Every year people of all age groups are getting into electronic gadgets and online entertainment at an alarming rate. This condition deteriorates their creative abilities and helps them grow lonely and violent. Children who perform well at the school level are more likely to be careless in their studies and fail in life. Too much fun activities can lead to broken relationships, lapses in responsibilities, and the loss of the future itself.

Entertainment is not the most important factor in life. Those who use their time effectively can find some time for relaxation and entertainment. Programs which provide positive thinking, motivation, and moral lessons develop our knowledge, intelligence, creative skills, and discover dormant talents. Many people are looking for jobs in the entertainment industry these days. The widespread availability of entertainment through social media reinforces the idea that everything in life revolves around entertainment. This notion is not conducive to those with a social conscience. It has become an obsession for those in power and parents alike.

Spend time for leisure wisely.

  2. Entertainment isn’t a bad thing. It’s enjoyable, relaxing and refreshing. Yet taken to an extreme, it’s just an escape from reality and there’s danger of losing who you could be.
